Liz-Mills

Liz is a game changer, trail blazer and history maker and the first woman to head coach a men’s national team at a FIBA continental championship.

From coaching junior and senior basketball in her home state of NSW, to international FIBA tournaments, Liz is leading the way for all coaches and blazing a trail for women coaching men at senior level.

Volunteering in Zambia would turn into a life-changing experience over the next decade coaching club teams and assisting Zambian and Cameroonian national teams before earning her big break as head coach of the Kenyan men’s team.

Liz would make history at the 2021 AfroBasket qualifiers taking the country to Africa’s premier competition for the first time in 28 years.

Under her tutelage, Kenya would advance through the group stages for the first time ever before being eliminated in the round of 16.

She has continued to smash the glass ceiling coaching Morocco AS Sale and now Abidjan Basketball Club in the 2023 Basketball Africa League.

In 2022, Liz co-founded the Global Women in Basketball Coaching Network with her twin sister and fellow coach Vik.
