Tess Madgen

AUSxGER-3101

Tess Madgen is the latest in a long line of decorated Opals captains to guide her country to the dais at major international competition.

The 32-year-old led Australia to a bronze medal in front of a home crowd at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Sydney.

It capped a huge 12 months for the South Australian-born guard who won her first WNBL championship with the Melbourne Boomers in the 2021-22 season and became an Olympian in Tokyo.

An AIS graduate who has carved out a successful career at home in the WNBL and in SEABL/NBL1, Madgen has also fulfilled two stints overseas with WNBA outfit Phoenix Mercury and in Poland.
