Participation Camps
These camps bring basketball to women and girls in regional and rural areas through engaging, hands-on sessions led by Australian Opals and WNBL players. Each camp integrates basketball skills with education on health, wellbeing, and culture integrated into fun on court activities. Ideally the camps will be delivered in local schools with the support of local council and local basketball associations to ensure participants are connected back into their local basketball ecosystem.
Leadership Workshops
Inspired by the Opals’ culture of unity and sisterhood, these workshops are focused on empowering women in regional areas to explore their leadership potential within basketball and their communities. Through interactive sessions, participants develop key skills in leadership, communication, and resilience, learning from the experiences of Opals and WNBL players. Rather than focusing solely on basketball, the workshops use basketball as a catalyst to foster connection, share inspiring stories, and encourage participants to see themselves as impactful leaders in and beyond the basketball community
Future Leaders Program
he Future Leaders Program is a 5-month program designed to empower women and girls in regional communities to become leaders in basketball. It initially targets those who attend our Leadership Workshops throughout the year, particularly those who are new to the sport, returning, or seeking a deeper connection, offering a structured and supportive environment for personal and community growth. Each month, participants will hear from an influential woman in basketball delivering a keynote, followed by breakout discussions led by a mentor and a facilitator, and a live Q&A session
Leadership & Confidence Scholarships
The five-month scholarship focuses on skillsets in all facets of basketball and includes a three-day camp, community and club coaching accreditation and an introductory official course. Sessions with EQ Minds will cover Mindset and Resilience, Finding Focus with Mindfulness, High Performance Mindset, Confidence On and Off the Court and Leadership: Leading and Hooping in the Moment.
Mentoring Opportunities
Program mentors include some of the country’s best female talent and role models. Mentoring is offered through program scholarships.
